Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has categorically rejected reports about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) electoral alliance with the Awami National Party (ANP) in the province.
He said that ANP supported the no-confidence move in the national assembly against the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, adding that electoral alliance with a party voted against the PTI chairman was out of the question.
He expressed these views in a video message released from his office here on Tuesday.
It is important to note that there were reports that claimed that the PTI and ANP leadership have decided to form an electoral alliance for the upcoming general elections in the province. However, the provincial government of PTI rejected such development.
In his statement the provincial government spokesperson Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said that PTI had no intentions of political or electoral alliance with any political party in KP.
“ANP is part of the imported government and regime change operation and Tehreek-e-Insaf cannot even think of alliance with any party which is part of regime change operation and conspiracy against Imran Khan’s democratic government,” he added.
Mr Saif said that the party has two-thirds majority in the provincial assembly and PTI was working hard for the restoration of democratic system in the country.
PTI was the largest and most popular political party in the province and centre in terms of vote, he added therefore, any political or electoral alliance with any political party that has been a part of no confidence vote process would not be accepted.
