KARACHI
The General Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi, Arslan Khalid, has expressed deep grief and strong resentment over the heart-wrenching incident in Larkana where innocent children lost their lives by drowning in an open water pit. In a statement, he asserted that open pits and dilapidated infrastructure across Sindh have turned into death traps for innocent citizens.
He added that such a negligent accident in Larkana, the stronghold of the PPP, is blatant proof of the provincial rulers’ criminal negligence. The corrupt and incompetent local government system of Sindh is directly responsible for the tragic demise of these innocent children. The Sindh government has swallowed billions of rupees in funds, leaving the public completely deprived of basic security and infrastructure.
The rulers who pushed Larkana into backwardness are now acting as silent spectators over the loss of innocent lives. PTI demands an immediate investigation into the incident and exemplary punishment for the negligent officials.
Arslan Khalid fiercely criticized the overall governance of the Sindh government, stating that from rural Sindh to Karachi, PPP’s bad governance has unleashed destruction everywhere. This government, formed by stealing the public mandate, has completely failed to solve public issues. The incompetent and corrupt clique imposed on Sindh is devouring Karachi’s resources like termites.
The PPP has turned the economic hub, Karachi, into ruins and a garbage dump to serve its personal interests. The acute shortage of water, electricity, and transportation has made the lives of citizens miserable.
He further stated that the rising lawlessness and rampant street crimes in the city are undeniable proof of the provincial government’s incompetence.
Instead of eradicating crime, the police force is being used as a tool for political victimization. By depriving the youth of Karachi of employment opportunities, an economic genocide is being carried out in the province, while local government bodies have been paralyzed to openly plunder provincial funds.
Arslan Khalid made it clear that PTI stands firmly with the aggrieved families of Larkana in this hour of grief and will spearhead the struggle to get them justice. The people of Sindh are now fully awake and will hold these oppressive and incompetent rulers accountable for the blood of their innocent children.
