At least seven persons including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) tehsil nazim Atif Munsif Khan were killed after unidentified assailants opened fire at a vehicle in Abbottabad Monday.
Tehsil Nazim Havelian Atif was reportedly on his way home in a car with his colleagues when they were attacked in the village of Langra. The car got fire and all the riders burnt on the spot in result of a horrific car firing incident, though some of them succeeded to come out of the car but couldn’t survive.
As per reports overall eight persons including four security guards and three workers were present in the car which caught fire after heavy firing. The bodies present in the vehicle were completely burnt.
The assailants also fired a rocket at the vehicle which burnt the vehicle and gutted the dead bodies, confirmed District Police Officer (DPO) Umar Tufail. District Police Officer (DPO) Umar Tufail told the media that the attack was apparently carried out by unidentified men due to personal enmity.
DPO Umar Tufail said that the firing incident took place near Havelian and people are confirming the presence of the tehsil nazim in the vehicle. He added that the vehicle caught fire due to heavy firing resorted to by the attackers. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
