PTI to take disciplinary action against five MPAs

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday announced to take disciplinary action against five of its Punjab Assembly lawmakers for not voting in favor of Chief Minister Parvez Elahi at midnight’s dramatic vote of confidence Wednesday and Thursday.
The five lawmakers, who were absent from dramatic Punjab Assembly session on late Wednesday and early Thursday night, include Dost Mazari, Khurram Laghari, Momina Waheed, Faisal Cheema and Chaudhry Masood.
Punjab government’s spokesperson Musarrat Jamshaid Cheema on Thursday announced PTI will file a reference in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to seek these members’ disqualification.
Cheema said her party was supposed to secure 191 votes while the all important voting. These 191 votes were supposed to be given by PTI, PML-Q and Independent lawmakers, but the chief minister secured 186 votes, since five were absent, she said.
