District Police Officer Masood Ahmed emphasized that sustainable peace in the district is not possible without active public cooperation.
He expressed these views during an introductory and consultative meeting with DRC, PLC, Ulema, and local dignitaries at Rustam Circle, Chargali.
He appreciated the role of community leaders in conflict resolution and called for strict action against jirgas involved in financial exploitation, gun culture, and aerial firing, while urging the formation of a coordination group to promote awareness
DRC Chairman Naeem Bacha, while giving a briefing on the occasion, said that in the past years, the DRC received 1722 cases, out of which 1617 cases were resolved peacefully, including financial disputes, dowry and land issues. So far in the year 2025, 247 cases have been received, out of which 202 have been resolved. DPO Mardan, while appreciating the role of DRC, Ulema and dignitaries of the area, said that sustainable peace is not possible without public cooperation.
He clarified that strict action will be taken against jirgas based on financial interests, gun culture and aerial firing.
DPO Mardan stressed on the establishment of a coordination group comprising PLC, DRC, scholars and dignitaries of the area and appealed to spread awareness against social evils in mosques and gatherings so that peace can be further strengthened in the area against social evils.
