Punjab govt decides to set up Sahulat bazaars to provide commodities at subsidized rates

LAHORE : Punjab government has decided to set up Sahulat Bazaar in the province to provide commodities to the people at subsidized rates.

Chief Secretary Punjab has issued directives to all deputy commissioner to make arrangements in this respect.

A meeting was held under the chief secretary Punjab in civil secretariat.

Chief secretary while addressing the meeting said Sahulat bazaars be made functional soon at Tehsil level.

The chief secretary also issued directives to devise procedure to lower the prices of poultry products.

The meeting was briefed that 42 licenses have been issued for setting up grain markets in Punjab at private level. 3999 persons were arrested during the current month for profiteering and 2413 cases were registered. Fines amounting to Rs over 90 million were also imposed during the ongoing month for overcharging and profiteering.
