The Qauid-e- Azam day archery championship concluded with different competition of professional senior, junior and veteran categories. The Pakhtunkhwa Archery club in collaboration with directorate of sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa orgainzed the event at Sumbal Football Ground Qayyum Sports Complex in connection with Qauid-e-Azam day in which different ages of players took part.
Shoaib, remained successful in U-21 category and won thr gold medal while Sami got first position in children and Wajahat Ali decleared gold medalist in the open category competition. Zulfiqar Butt, general KP Olympic Association was chief gust of the event while he was flanked by Sara Khan, president KP Archery Club, Waqas Khalil, general secretary and Ghani-ur-Rahman, media coordinator.
In the 10 meter archery competition Youngs won gold while Hasher silver and Ariz bronze medal. In the 30 meters of U-21 Shoiab met with first position while Husna Begum and Mohsin got second and third position respectively. However, in the beganners of 18 meter Sami got gold medal, Arif and Yousaf met with silver and bronze medal respectively. Similarly, in the open category of 50 meters competition Wajahat Ali won gold medal, Major(R) Akbar Azam silver medal and Waqas Ahmad Khalil bronze medal.
At the end of the archery competition the cheif gust distributed cash and certificates among the position holder players. Appreciating the KP archery club for such organizing suh fruitful event, Zulfiqar said that the club promoted the game with full enthusiasm and that day is not far when talented archery players would comeforward at national and international level for enlightening the country all over the world.
Sara said that KP sports directorate fully supported the archery club on every occasion and due to that support the club organizing worthy events for the players. She added that the club with insufficient resources tried its level best for the promotion of the game across the province.
