PESHAWAR
The leadership of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) has strongly criticized the 11-year rule of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, terming it a period marked by widespread failures, poor governance, and public disillusionment.
In a high-level meeting held at Watan-Kor, party central office in Peshawar, chaired by QWP Provincial Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, party officials unanimously condemned what they described as PTI’s inability to protect the rights of the province or introduce meaningful reforms for the welfare of its people. The meeting was convened to discuss the prevailing political situation in the country and province, the public disappointment and deprivation caused by PTI’s governance, and organizational matters including a strategy to strengthen party activities post-Eid.
Party leaders expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order, rising unemployment, growing poverty, and what they labeled as rampant corruption and nepotism under the PTI-led provincial government. They also criticized PTI for failing to implement any coherent development strategy or people-centric policies during its tenure. “The PTI government has no viable action plan for public welfare,” said one participant. “Its record is filled with empty promises, internal reshuffling, and sacking ministers over corruption without any real accountability or improvement in governance.” The QWP leaders vowed to expose what they called PTI’s “double standards” by organizing public gatherings and press conferences across the province.
They also announced the launch of a renewed public outreach campaign in collaboration with district-level party organizations. They alleged that due to PTI’s poor planning and governance, KP has fallen behind other provinces in development, leaving citizens deprived of basic rights and opportunities.
“The provincial government has nothing substantial to show for its performance except cosmetic changes and failed experiments,” said Sherpao. “We will not abandon the people of this province. The QWP will fight for their rights, protection, and welfare on every platform and at every level.”
