PESHAWAR: The Provincial Chairman of Qaumi Watan Party Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has expressed serious concern over the increase in prices of essential items, and demanded of the provincial government to implement an effective mechanism for controlling prices of essential items including flour. QWP senior leader Sikandar Hayat Khan said that a proper mechanism should be devised and activated to control inflation and price control in the province. Addressing a public gathering at Union Council Koz Bahram Dheri, he criticized PTI previous government for failing to deliver on many fronts, adding people voted the party to bring change but its leadership did nothing for people welfare. Sikandar Khan claimed that KP is suffering from an acute financial crisis and funds are not available to pay salaries to government employees.
KP produces cheap electricity but its residents were faced with long-hours of load shedding, adding that PTI did nothing for the youth of the province and failed to provide them with opportunities for employment.
People are facing high inflation, unemployment and insecurity on the one hand, and on the other hand, they are facing daily increase in electricity prices and brutal load shedding, he said.
On this occasion, local leaders of PTI Siraj Khan, Latif Khan, Sharif Khan, Bakht Rawan, Shah Rukh, Younis Khan, Noor Zaman Khan, Wajid Khan, Rafiq and others joined QWP.
