Ramadan Night Teqball Championship 2024 Kicks Off in Peshawar

The Ramadan Night Teqball Championship 2024 has commenced at the Qayyum Stadium in Peshawar. Players hailing from various districts and adjacent areas of the province are set to engage in this eagerly anticipated event. The inauguration ceremony witnessed esteemed guests Ilyas Afridi and Deputy Director of Sports, Jafar Shah, marking the beginning of the championship.
Distinguished personalities including Pakistan Teqball Federation President Mian Rahat, Provincial Taqball Association Secretary Wajahat Ali, Akhtar Rasool, and Kaleemullah, President of Khyber Teqball Association, graced the occasion with their presence.
Approximately 30 top-tier players from Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, Jamrud, and Landi Kotal are poised to showcase their skills in collaboration with the Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Absar Welfare Foundation, Pakistan Teqball Federation, and Provincial Teqball Association. Notably, national champion and international tag ball player Hidayatur Rehman is also among the participants.
In the group stage encounters of the Ramadan Night Teqball Championship, Bilal from Jamrud secured a victory over Sheeran from Peshawar with a score of 2-0. Furthermore, international player Hidayatur Rehman triumphed over his rival player Mohsin Khan with a similar scoreline.
Mohib from Landi Kotal emerged victorious against Zarar from Khyber, while Abrar from Jamrud defeated Danish from Peshawar. Similarly, Hasnain from Mardan outplayed Ali from Charsadda with a score of 2-0. The semi-final matches are scheduled for tomorrow.
Mian Absar Ali, the pioneer of Teqball Federation in Pakistan and an international coach, expressed his enthusiasm for the growing popularity of teqball in the country. Despite being a relatively new sport, tagball has garnered immense love and participation, with clubs across the nation witnessing consistent engagement from male and female players.
Ali expressed optimism that these talented players would bring laurels to Pakistan on the global stage. Highlighting the success of Hidayat ur Rahman in the International Teqball Championship held in Thailand, Ali expressed hope that other players would follow suit with stellar performances.
