In South Waziristan Tribal District, Assistant Commissioner wana basheer Khan, met with the elders & Maliks of the Reconciliation Jirga to resolve the ongoing land dispute between Zali Khel and Khojal Khel tribes in Gorgora area of Wana.
The reconciliation jirga briefed Assistant Commissioner Wana on its progress and expressed hope that insha-Allah the land dispute would be resolved through negotiations.
The reconciliation jirga said that a respite has been set between the two sides till 10 o’clock tomorrow.
Tomorrow, the jirga will again hold talks with the Zali Khel and Khojal Khel tribes under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner wana Basheer Khan with the cooperation of Other Ahmadzai Wazir and Suleman Khel tribes elders.
Assistant Commissioner Wana said that the issue would be resolved through a reconciliation jirga. He said that the elders have been holding continuous jirga,s for the last several days with the cooperation of the district administration.
Assistant Commissioner Basheer Khan further said that negotiations would continue through the reconciliation jirga, no person or tribe would be given a chance to shed blood or clash, and this land dispute would be resolved in accordance with tribal traditions.
He said that on the direction of Deputy Commissioner South Waziristan, Amjad meraj the district administration was working hard to resolve the land dispute between Zali Khel and Khojal Khel tribes in Wana,
in a peaceful manner by fulfilling all the legal requirements. Inshallah, the decision will be based on justice with the cooperation of the district administration of Elders.
Assistant Commissioner Wana further said that DPO South Waziristan Khanzeb Mohmand has deployed in a large number of police personnel to maintain law and order in Gorgora area so that police action would be taken at any time to deal with any untoward situation.
