Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah has emphasized comprehensive reforms are critical to alter prevalent rotten and apathetic electoral system. “Our main notion of the relentless struggle is ensure to transparency, fairness in electoral as well as democratic system, wherein it will make sure supremacy rule of law and every responsible to be held accountable before general masses”,
Mr Faiq said hundreds of people exercise their right to vote in recently held Local Bodies Poll in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in favour of Amun Taraqqi Party, which is clearly testimonial of their reposing trust and a step toward success.
He maintained the workers’ role is highly adorable in the LB Election in K-P.
He said the same movement is being vigorously carried across the country. Faiq Shah was chairing a meeting here at the party’s central secretariat on Tuesday. The ATP chief noticed people have become fed up with politics based on inherited and personal interests, and using traditional pressure tactics during elections.
He called upon all institutions and segments to play their proactive role to ensure equal public participation in power and authorities, describing it as a real shape of democracy.
He asked to avoid conquering the country and people.
Mr Shah opined redressal of public issues as well as provision of speedy justice, removal of poverty, illiteracy, deprivations and backwardness cannot be ensured until holding of direct public assessment and accountability.
He noted that money had lavishly spent during LB Election in K-P. He added traditional people are still gaining power by using pressure and intimidating tactics, force and firing.
The party leader urged the Election Commission of Pakistan to conduct an impartial inquiry and to disallow such people to become public representatives by adopting cowardice methods and means.
Furthermore, he emphasized the ECP should conduct a critical analysis of every constituency and should seek guarantee of enforcement of the manifesto with letter and spirit.
He suggested a ban should be imposed for contesting elections as an independent candidate because of having no manifesto and ideology. He made it clear that there will be strict assessment, if the public issues were unresolved.
ATP is the name of a public movement as the party has fully supported downtrodden and poor segments of the society, the party chief said.
