Relief minister visits civil defense directorate in Peshawar

Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation & Settlement Aqib Ullah Khan visited the head office of the Directorate of Civil Defense Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Peshawar here on Wednesday.
On the occasion the provincial minister was briefed about the aims and objectives of the Directorate of Civil Defense, including its importance and the steps being taken.
Provincial Minister Aqib Ullah Khan also reviewed the training activities, services of volunteers and operational preparedness of the organization in detail.
The provincial minister paid tribute to the officers and volunteers of the organization and said that their selfless services represent an exemplary spirit. Regarding the training of volunteers he said that this type of professional preparation not only plays a role in making society safer, but also creates defense awareness at the social level.
Talking to the media, Aqib Ullah Khan said that the Directorate of Civil Defense ensurs effective services for public awareness and public protection in emergency situations, which is highly commendable. He said that the provincial govt will utilize all resources to make the Directorate compatible with modern requirements.
