KHYBER: Rescue 1122 has claimed to tackle 367 different kinds of emergencies across the district Khyber in the month of February, 2023. In a report shared by the emergency officer of the Rescue department of Khyber, Syed Shoab Mansoor said that a total of 353 incidents, comprised, 152 were of medical emergencies, 40 of traffic accidents, 10 were fire eruption happens, 12 of firing and conflict happens,20 incidents of recovery,04 drowning,01 explosion. The monthly report revealed that a total of 15513 calls had been received out of which 15105 were unnecessary and 169 were fake ones. It further stated that 114 patients had been provided first medical aid on the spot and referred to various hospitals in or outside the district for further medical assistance. The district emergency officer urged the local people to avoid fake phone calls to the Rescue center as it affected the efficiency of the rescue workers to rapidly respond to a genuine incident somewhere in the district.
