KP provincial round concludes
PESHAWAR
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial phase of the Al-Kabir All Pakistan Club Karate Championship 2026 concluded successfully, with male and female athletes from various clubs across the province displaying outstanding performances throughout the competition.
In the women’s category, Rising Star Karate Club, Peshawar, secured the overall championship title. The winning team consisted of Romasa Kamran, Areeba, Hina, Nazia, and Maliha Noor. Abbasin Karate Academy, Abbottabad, finished in second place, while Shotokan Karate Academy, Kohat, claimed third position.
In the men’s competition, Safi Warriors Karate Club, Peshawar, emerged victorious after delivering an impressive performance.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Karate Association Coordinator Shah Faisal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Badminton Association Secretary Mian Sadaqat Shah, who distributed prizes among the successful athletes.
They were accompanied by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Karate Association Secretary Asim Chaudhry, Ju-Jitsu Association Secretary Naeem, Archery Association representative Sarfaraz Ahmed, and other distinguished guests.
The championship-winning team included Muhammad Ali, Salman, Ibrahim, Abdullah, Murad Khan, Haris Khan, and Muhammad Haris. Friends Karate Academy, Karak, secured second place, while Shaheen Karate Academy, Bannu, finished third.
The championship featured competitions in various weight categories and kata events, where young athletes demonstrated excellent technical skills, discipline, and sporting spirit. According to the organizers, the athletes who excelled at the provincial stage will go on to represent their respective academies and clubs in the upcoming phases of the championship.
Members of the sports community welcomed the successful organization of the event, stating that such competitions play a vital role in promoting karate among the youth and providing a platform for emerging talent to showcase their abilities.
