Sarwar, Shujat discuss upcoming local bodies elections

LAHORE: Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has discussed upcoming local bodies elections with former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Satuday. Meeting was held at the residence of Chaudhry brothers. “I went to ask wellbeing of Chaudhry Shujaat and for seeking his opinion. There are not any grievances with PML (Q)’s tenure. I have met personally with the leadership of PML-Q,” he added. Governor Punjab said that Pime Minister Imran Khan has made a committee consists of three members for local bodies elections. “We will collectively make decisions regarding seat adjustment with allies.
It is a very good effort to take all opposition parties on board and making decisions according to clauses,” he maintained.
On this occasion, Pervaiz Elahi said that private universities are being appreciated in the province. “Faculities are made on merit which is not less than international universities. Students will not have to go out of the country for higher education,” he concluded.
