Sayasi Ittehad(Political Alliance) of Bara subdivision rejected fresh delimitation of the constituencies in district Khyber and demanded restoration of the National Assembly seat in the previous design.
It is to be mentioned here that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in its delimitation report, six seats of the merged tribal districts have been decreased.
Addressing to local media after concluding the Alliance meeting here in Bara press club on Friday chief of the Sayasi Ittehad Shah Faisal Afridi said that after consultation with all main stream local political parties leaderships beside other unions it has been decided that ECP has taken decision of abolishing NA seat in Ex-Fata without fresh census therefore it should be revised and representation of the tribesmen in National Assembly (NA) should be restored as per old plan.
Jurisdiction of all three subdivisions of Khyber have been identified therefore new delimitation is against traditional, administrative principles in addition with conducting fresh census in ex-tribal agencies will resolve electorate problems.
More than 70 percent population of Bara has not been documented in previous census as the tribesmen were Internal Displaced Persons(IDPs)hence a new NA constituency needs to be formulated in Bara, keeping the over growing population of it.
The Political Alliance, Bara declined reduction of NA seats especially in Khyber from two to one and said it will be a deliberate effort to stop the tribesmen from electing their representative to NA.
He further said that a seminar will be convened of all merged districts, elites of mainstream political parties in Peshawar press club to inform the authorities of their miseries.
