Commenting on gain and again dissolution and then the reconstitution of the Supreme Court bench hearing the PTI petition against the ECP decision to defer polls in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has termed the situation quite vexing and not less than a national tragedy.

Talking to media in Islamabad on Friday, the interior minister deplored that Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, too, has recused himself from hearing the case. “A nine-judge bench has now been reduced to just a three-member bench,” Sanaullah commented, adding that they (judges) have pronounced their detailed judgement against the suo motu notice.

He said that the circular has no significance in the face of SC bench’s decision. The interior minister held the ‘Fitna Khan’ (Imran Khan) responsible for the judicial crisis. “Fitna Khan wants chaos in the country. He has pushed the country to the precipice,” he lamented.

Sanaullah was of the view that the judiciary must take cognizance of the matter as why did Imran dissolve assemblies. The PTI chief has created political, economic and judicial crises, he said adding who was behind the move to dissolve the assemblies.

He called upon the Chief Justice of Pakistan to see how this ‘Fitna’ was launched in Pakistan. He appealed for justice from the Chief Justice of Pakistan and all judges of the country. He reckoned that assemblies were not dissolved constitutionally. He also underlined the need to know what the agenda behind the assemblies’ dissolution was.
