SC orders to provide financial assistance to mother of missing person

Supreme Court (SC) has issued orders for providing financial assistance to mother of missing person Imran Khan from Ehsas Program or Baitul Mal.
The court issued these orders while seeking reply in connection with provision of financial assistance to mother of missing person Imran Khan during the course of hearing of federal government appeal plea against Islamabad High Court (IHC) decision in the case pertaining to disappearance of one Imran Khan, resident of Islamabad Friday.
The court also ordered IHC should not initiate proceedings against the investigation officers. High court ordered to extend financial assistance to mother of missing person on compassionate ground.
The case came up for hearing before a 3-member bench of SC presided over by acting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial.
The Additional Attorney General (AAG) took the plea during the hearing of the case there is no such law in place under which assistance can be provided to the family members of the missing person. The security agencies are investigating and search is underway for missing person IHC ordered to extend financial assistance amounting to Rs 120000 per month to the mother of missing person.
Acting CJP Umar Ata Bandial remarked how much difficult it is for the state to help a 75 years old woman. Government has replaced name of Benazir Income Support Program with Ehsas Program . Help the elderly woman under Ehsas Program. Our country is very lovely country. It should not be made Guantanamo Bay. A man is missing since the last five years and the state could do nothing. The issue of missing persons is very serious. The state will have to take solid steps.
Justice Qazi Amin remarked billion of rupees are deducted under Zakat head. Therefore, billion of rupees will be lying in Baitul Mal and Ehsas program.
The counsel Col (Retd) Inam ul Rahim told the court according to missing persons commission bodies of 221 persons were found in January. It has been said in its report of government location of Imran Khan has come from one camp.
The court while accepting the plea of AAG for giving time to him to file reply in connection with financial assistance to mother of missing person adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite period.
