ISLAMABAD : Supreme Court (SC) has summoned detailed report on petrol pumps established on state land within 3 weeks in the case pertaining to lease of state land in different cities in Punjab.
A 3-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) took up the case for hearing Wednesday.
The CJP remarked during the hearing of the case how the petrol pumps were established on public and state land. We had ordered to abolish petrol pumps.
Commissioner Faisalabad had got vacated land at Faisalabad as per court’s orders. We will implement court’s orders in letter and spirit.
Member Revenue Punjab told the court petrol pump in Khanewal has also been sealed. The venue will be got vacated within a few days.
Additional Advocate General (AAG) Punjab Faisal Chaudhry said we will file report within a week on the petrol pumps constructed on green belts in all over the Punjab.
Justice Qazi Amin remarked you have powers. You should exercise powers and use law. Judges and parliament can not do the job of administration. Commissioner Sahb show some courage.
CJP remarked on one occasion conduct survey of your areas and file survey report in the court.
The court while directing the commissioner and member revenue to file the complete report within 3 weeks adjourned the hearing of the case for 3 weeks.
