SCCI vows to take up traders’ issues with govt departments

Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry assured traders to help resolve their concerns and issues by taking up with relevant government departments and authorities.
The chamber also stressed unity, consultation and coordination to address key challenges, which were being faced by the community.
Reaffirming the chamber’s and businessman forum commitment toward resolving issues on priority ground, Muhammad Nadeem, acting president said traders have played a pivotal role in economic and business growth, and urged the government and relevant authorities to facilitate them.
Muhammad Nadeem, the acting president of the chamber was speaking to a delegation of the traders belonging to Gur Mandi, Khushal Bazaar and Fruit Market Peshawar during luncheon hosted by Businessman Forum in their hounor here at the SCCI house on Monday.
The delegation was headed by the chamber’s executive member Saifullah Khan.
Traders are facing a host of challenges and issues under the prevailing circumstances, the acting president said.
Therefore, he emphasized the need for pragmatic steps to provide relief and facilitation to the business community so that they will continue to play their role in the economic development of the country.
Meeting attended by the chamber’s vice president Sabir Ahmad Banagash, former president FPCCI and leader of Businessman Forum Ghazanfar Bilour, former president and Anjuman E Tajran Lifetime president Haji Muhammad Afzal, Chairman of Anjuman Tajraan District Peshawar Shaukat Ali Khan, former senior vice president Naeem Butt, and Muhammad Tariq, and Ihsanullah Mohmand, Haji Gulab, Mast Ali, Shafqat, Haji Ibrahim and Haji Abdullah Gul and office bearers and members of Gur Mandi, Khushal Bazaar and Fruit Market Peshawar in a large number.
Traders during the meeting highlighted issues mostly relating to custom, FBR, police, agriculture departments, along with WSSP load and unload tax, traffic, encroachments and closuring of trade routes.
They urged the SCCI to raise their problems before high officials of the aforementioned authorities.
BF Ghazanfar Bilour, Haji Muhammad Afzal and Shaukat Ali Khan also spoke on the occasion and gave a full assurance that SCCI and BF will make vigorous efforts to resolve all issues by effectively taking up with relevant authorities.
The chamber leadership recounted the initiatives that had taken under the platform of Businessman Forum and called it as the only traders’ representative forum, which had always played a central role in addressing the business community.
