PESHAWAR
The Directorate of Transport has made fitness certification mandatory for school and college buses operating in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to official sources on Wednesday, in this regard, an official letter has been issued to the Private Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA), KP.
According to the directive, all vehicles used by educational institutions will be treated as commercial vehicles and must obtain a valid fitness certificate.
Student transportation without a fitness certificate will not be allowed under any circumstances.
The letter further states that vehicle fitness inspections will be conducted by Motor Vehicle Examiners. Legal action will be taken against institutions found violating fitness rules.
The decision has been taken to ensure the safety of students and to strictly enforce transport laws.
The Directorate has also ordered regular inspection of school and college buses and instructed private educational institutions to immediately register their transport vehicles and complete the required fitness certification.
