KHYBER: Landi Kotal and its surrounding areas received on Thursday night, the first snowfall of the winter season. After a daylong downpouring yesterday, the snowfall started at 10:00 pm on Thursday and soon it covered the mountains tops and down inhabitant areas. It continued till Morning Prayer, locals said. The plain areas received almost one feet while the hilly areas got two feet to three feet of snow, they said. Last time Landi Kotal received snowfall was in 2020. The locals declared it a good omen and said it will raise the water table in Landi Kotal to shun the problem of acute shortage of potable water. On the other hand with the uploading of the news of the snowfall in Landi Kotal on social media, thousands of visitors from Peshawar and adjacent districts arrived to the area to enjoy the snowfall.
