Security steps reviewed for KP Assembly’s public session

On the directives of Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati, senior officials from law enforcement and administrative departments held a meeting at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat to review arrangements for an upcoming public assembly session.
The meeting was attended by CCPO Peshawar Saeed Khan, officials of the Special Branch, representatives of the Home and Tribal Affairs Department, and Secretary Provincial Assembly Syed Waqar Shah. MPAs Ahmed Karim Kundi and Adnan Khan were also present.
The participants discussed security and administrative arrangements for the public session scheduled to be held at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium on April 22, 2026.
Officials agreed on close coordination among all relevant institutions to ensure peaceful and effective conduct of the event and finalised a joint strategy in this regard.
Secretary Assembly Syed Waqar Shah said the Secretariat was working in full coordination with concerned departments, as directed by the Speaker, to ensure smooth arrangements for the session.
He added that all relevant institutions were making efforts to complete preparations in a short time to ensure the successful holding of the public session.
