On this occasion Director Dr Qazi ur Rehman, Director of Cattle Breeding Dr Burhanuddin and other officers were also present.
He inspected the laboratory and different parts of the farm including the production unit, while the director of the farm, Burhanuddin, gave a detailed briefing to the secretary.
Secretary was told that it was the only foreign cattle breeding and dairy farm in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa having 90 Holstein Friesian cows and one bull imported in 1982, while 30 Jersey cows were obtained from the Punjab government through Holstein Friesian exchange in 1982.
The main objective is to increase the milk and meat production of low yielding local non-descript animals through crossbreeding with exotic animals as a model farm for future progressive farmers.
It acts as a teaching institution for progressive farmers and students from various universities and para-veterinary institutes to provide research facilities for postgraduate veterinary students and reduce poverty through employment generation.
On this occasion, the secretary issued directive to issue breeding bills to the zamindars at subsidized rates and provide facilities to the students coming for internship. He appreciated the performance of the staff.
