Senator Naseebullah Bazai meets DG Census

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Senator Naseebullah Bazai met Director General Census (Admn) Dr Amjad Javaid Sandhu in Islamabad. According to the details, Senator Naseebullah Bazai discussed the ongoing census. During the meeting, Bazai said that the population of Quetta has decreased as compared to the previous census. Meanwhile, DG assured Senator Naseebullah Bazait that his team will look into this matter and promised to extend the Census date. Earlier, the Statistics Bureau of Pakistan (SBP) extended the date of the digital census till April 20 (Thursday). SBP Spokesperson said the digital census was extended till April 20th. SBP Chief Statistician Naeem Al Zafar said 99 per cent of the census work is completed in Punjab while 98 per cent of census work is completed in Sindh and 82 per cent of work is completed in the country’s largest province Balochistan. Zafar said 100 per cent of work has been completed in Azad Jammu Kashmir A(JK) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). “90 per cent of the work has been completed in 131 out of 156 districts,” Naeem Al Zafar said.
