Senator Raza Rabbani demands of president Arif Alvi to resign forthwith

Former Chairman Senate and PPP Senator Raza Rabbani has strongly criticized president Arif Alvi for not attending the funeral of Army helicopter martyrs and demanded of him to resign forthwith.
In a statement Raza Rabbani said president is Supreme Commander of armed forces under article 243(2) of the constitution. If he could not perform the duties of supreme commander for any political affiliation then he should resign immediately.
Not attending the funeral of army helicopter martyrs by supreme commander for any reason is source of grave concern, he added.
The officers martyred in the crash constitute the highest echelons of the Army command. President failed to perform his duties and functions in this regard which is regrettable.
He went on to say President Arif Alvi is still working as PTI worker and he has failed to grow into the Office of the president of Pakistan.
This is not the first time the incumbent President political affiliations have stood in the way of the presidential duties and functions.
He acted contrary to law when the presidency obstructed parliament from performing its function of legislation by the more the excessive use of article 89 , constitution 1973 (Ordinances).
He violated the will of parliament by re-promulgation of the PMDC ordinance which had been disapproved by the Senate under Article -89 constitution 1973.
He acted on advice not in accordance with the law , in the appointment of heads of various institutions. Which were set aside by the court of law.
He sent ill advice references under article 209, constitution 1973 against judges of the superior courts which were set aside by the courts.
He issued a notification of a member of NFC from Balochistan which was set aside
He dissolved the national assembly on the advice of Prime Minister who was suffering from a disqualification under article 95 , constitution 1973.
Keeping in view these examples President Arif Alvi should resign from his office because he failed in performing the duties of office of the president in any way.
