Series against England is tough: Azhar Ali

LEEDS: Pakistani ODI cricket team’s captain Azhar Ali praised his bowlers for putting in a good performance on Friday but said that they were unable to break the partnership.
Pakistan lost to England in the fourth ODI at Leeds on Friday, which gave England the lead by 4-0 in the five-match One Day International series. Bairstow and Ben Stokes steered England to victory with their match-winning partnership, as England beat Pakistan by four wickets to clinch the series.
Pakistani captain Azhar Ali praised his bowlers but said that more needed to be done.
“Bowlers bowled well today but unfortunately, were unable to break the partnership,” he said.
Azhar also said that the batsmen did not put up a big score for the English side to chase, adding that he should have scored more runs.
“I need to score a big innings for my team,” said the Pakistani skipper, who made 80 runs in the fourth ODI.
Azhar praised fast bowler Mohammad Irfan, who took two wickets in the match, but said that it was unfortunate that the lanky pacer twisted his shank. The Pakistani skipper gave credit to English cricketers Johnny Bairstow and Moeen Ali for snatching the match away from Pakistan with their stellar performances.
Azhar Ali said that the series against England was difficult.
