Shamshad Khan named new election commissioner KP


PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday appointed Shamshad Khan, a grade 21 officer, as Provincial Election Commissioner Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) with immediate effect. According to a notification issued by the ECP “ Shamshad Khan, a BS-21 officer of the Election Commission of Pakistan, presently posted as DG in ECP secretariat, is transferred and posted as Provincial Election Commissioner, Peshawar in his own pay and scale with immediate effect and until further orders on administrative grounds and in the public interest.” The spokesperson of the provincial elections commission Sohail Khan in a statement said that newly appointed provincial election commissioner Mr Shamshad has formally assumed charge of the post. Mr Shamshad joined ECP as Assistant Election Commissioner in BPS 17, having enough experience in elections related matters and administration as well. Later on, the newly appointed commissioner KP chaired a meeting of the officers and was briefed on the ongoing activities being carried out by each wing in the province. DLP Report
