PESHAWAR
Federal Minister for Poverty Allievation, Social Security and Chairperson Benazir Icome Support Program (BISP), Mohtarma Shazia Mari met with the World Bank Director Regional Head for Social Protection and Acting Director for Europe and Central Asia, Nicole Klingen at the World Bank Headquarters at Wasington DC.
Shazia Mari briefed her about the social security measures of the BISP in Pakistan and exchanged views on the guidance, training and financial assistance of youth besides promotion of the digital economy.
Through financial assistance of youth, Shazia Mari said that opportunities for economic and social development has been created through poverty allievation fund in Pakistan.
She said digital entrepreneurship has been promoted through provision of financial assistance to the talented youth in Pakistan.
Shazia Mari also stressed the need on clean drinking water and sanitation during her address at a high level political forum on the sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations at New York.
