Islamabad : Pakistan People’s Party(PPP) leader Sherry Rehman criticized the federal government for waiving the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority(PPRA) rules on wheat imports, saying that the move was “ extremely dangerous”.
After devastating Pakistan’s agricultural sector, the government is importing the food at exorbitant prices. Extreme mismanagement and corruption said by Sherry Rehman on social networking site Twitter.
She said that the prices of food items in Pakistan especially sugar, wheat, palm oil and pulses have gone up by 53%.
Food inflation is highest in the region, while utility stores have also seen a rise in prices.
