Shinwari football club lifted the winning trophy by defeating Bara eleven by 4:00 in the final match of Pakistan Sports Festival Football Tournament being played here at government boys high school football ground, Landi Kotal last day.
Commandant Khyber Rifles Col Nazir Rezwan was the chief guest on the occasion.
Beside 101 wing commander Lieutenant Col Ammar Iqbal, village council chairman Ziaul Haq Afridi, chairman Khyber Sports Club Mirajuddin hundreds of thousands sports lovers from across the Khyber district witnessed the final match and were amused by it.
Earlier, Shinwari football club beat Mulagori team while Bara football club eleven defeated Tirah football club and both teams qualified for the final match.
Before the start of the final match, the players of both teams were introduced to the chief guests.
The match started in a thrilling way and forwards of both teams attacked on one another’s goal however the Shinwari eleven one after another scored goals and till end of the final match the score was 4:0.
Mubeen Shinwari was declared Man of the Match.
The chief guest announced fifty thousand rupees for the finalist while the runner-up team received twenty five thousand cash prizes.
At the end the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes to the winning teams and players.
The tournament was played under the banner of Pakistan Sports Festival 2022 and six teams that qualified from Landi Kotal, Bara and Jamrud subdivisions participated in the sports combat that continued for a month.
