Sindh flood-hit farmers to get cash for seeds

KARACHI: The Sindh government will start distributing Rs 5,000 per acre of support cash among flood-hit farmers for buying wheat seeds from Sunday (tomorrow). The cash will be given to the farmers through the Benazir Income Support Programme. In this regard, the Sindh government is organizing a function in the Chief Minister’s House at 3:30 PM on March 5. All the flood-affected farmers were invited to the event. Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will attend the ceremony as chief guest. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, PPP federal and provincial ministers, MNAs, advisors, and special assistants will participate in the event. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will distribute the cash money to the farmers on the occasion. Pertinent to mention a total amount of Rs4.224 billion will be distrib­uted among the farmers.
