Six drug pushers held

Islamabad Police have arrested six drug pushers from various areas of the city and recovered narcotics, wine a police spokesman said on Saturday.
According to a news release on Saturday, following directions and guidance of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas renewed efforts were underway to curb bootlegging and drug peddling activities in the city.
Following these directions SP I-Area Saud Khan constituted special police team under the supervision SDPO including SHO Noon Police Station along with others arrested 03 drug peddlers namely Zafar Jamal, Farooq Shah and Bakhtair and recovered 2968 grams of hashish recovered from their possession.
Similarly, Ramana police arrested a suspect Muhammad Alam, recovering 2730 grams hashish. Golra police arrested accused Tahran Shahzad with recovery of 390 grams hashish.
Likewise lohiebher police arrested a wine sellers namely Muhammad Munair and recovered 22 liters alcohol from him. Separate cases have been registered against the nabbed persons.
The IGP has appreciated the performance and directed all police officials for high vigilance and monitoring against those involved in anti-social activities. He said that Islamabad Police would also safeguard its youth from various evils like use of drugs and ensure brighter future of them.
He said that it is collective responsibility of every person of the society to remain alert against those involved in criminal activities in their surroundings and inform police for action against them.
