SNGCL seeks increase in gas price from OGRA

Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) has once again sought increase in the price of gas .
According to media reports SNGC has sought increase of Rs 291 per MMBTU from OGRA. This increase has been sought under head of gas and its transportation.
Chairman OGRA has said decision will be taken taking into view interest of both companies and consumers. However scaling up tariff is compulsion.
OGRA held public hearing in regard to increase in price of gas in Lahore Sui gas head office. Sui Northern Gas company authorities and consumers presented their stance.
Chairman OGRA said Sui gas companies bench mark has been made stringent to provide relief to consumers.
During the hearing CNG, Textile and other industrial consumers have opposed strongly the hike in gas prices .
President CNG Association Ghias Paracha has said Sui Northern should curtail its expenses. It is shifting all burden to consumers.
It said the gas is in abundance but it is not available to consumers. loadshedding in respect of domestic, commercial and industrial consumers is being observed. People have been constrained to use LPG.
He demanded “ give gas, Lower the price too.
