ABBOTTABAD: A Public-Private Dialogue (PPD), organized by the Centre for Governance and Public Accountability (CGPA) and the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) Abbottabad, was held to support women entrepreneurs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The event brought together government officials, business leaders, and organizations such as SMEDA, FBR, and TDAP to discuss policies for empowering women-led businesses in the region. Key speakers included Khalfan Khattak from CGPA, who emphasized creating a supportive ecosystem for women entrepreneurs, and Deputy Commissioner Capt (R) Sana Ullah, who outlined reforms under KP’s Chief Minister’s Agenda aimed at fostering a more inclusive business environment. Saima Rizwan, president of WCCI, called for permanent office space and solutions to licensing issues, while Amna Sharif from FBR encouraged business registration for women entrepreneurs to access government benefits. The dialogue also highlighted the importance of integrating women into policing and Dispute Resolution Councils, as discussed by SSP Investigation Mr Ishtiaq, to enhance justice and trust for women in business. The event underscored the need for collaboration among the government, private sector, and civil society to create sustainable opportunities for women entrepreneurs in KP.
