Special train of Sikh pilgrims derailed

LAHORE: A special train of Sikh pilgrims has derailed near Shorkot Cantt, Chitiana police station limits. According to reports, 9 coaches of the train carrying Sikh pilgrims derailed while some pilgrims have sustained minor injuries. . A special train for Sikh pilgrims was going from Karachi to Nankana Sahib, which was brought from Faisalabad. However, no casualty was reported in the incident. After being informed, the rescue teams reached the incident site and launched relief operation. According to Railways officials, majority of the passengers were adjusted on other bogies of the train and dispatched for their destination at 9:55am. Due to the accident, traffic of other trains has been suspended while a crane has reached for rescue. During the visit, Sikh pilgrims will visit Dera Sahib, Panja Sahib, Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur Sahib. They will enter Pakistan on November 6 and return to India on the 15th of this month. Railway minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq has constituted inquiry committee to probe into the incident. Online
