PESHAWAR: Provincial caretaker ministers Haji Manzoor Afridi and Advocate Sawal Nazir have directed the municipal authorities of Khyber district to speed up work on drinking water and sanitation schemes in the district. In this regard, the Excise Minister Haji Manzoor Khan Afridi especially called on the KP Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sawal Nazir Advocate at his office Local Government Secretariat and mentioned the problems faced by the people of Khyber regarding clean drinking water and sanitation facilities. Following this, the Local Government Minister summoned the concerned municipal officers to his office who briefed the ministers on the projects of beautification, water supply and hygiene in Khyber district. The Minister LG directed to accelerate the work on these ongoing schemes and its completion should be ensured as soon as possible so that the people there can benefit from them in the ensuing summer and the fruits of these development projects worth billions of rupees can reach the people in time. The officials of the municipal administration of Khyber assured to complete all the ongoing schemes on emergency basis and also invited Haji Manzoor Afridi for inauguration of some under-completed projects sooner.
