Five days long (from 18th to 22nd November) colorful Sports and Culture Gala has concluded here at Warsek sport ground, Tirah Maidan last day.
The extracurricular activity was organized under the auspices of the sports department and local administration with assistance of Community Resilience Activity (CRA).
Approximately 28 best teams participated in the sport activity and 300 local players demonstrated their talent in games of Volleyball, Cricket, Kabadi, Tug of War etc.
Large numbers of sports lovers witnessed the activities and widely praised the abilities of the players.
Culture and PT shows were also exhibited that amused the audience.
At the concluded day, Commandant Tirah Rifle Col Khurram Rashid was the chief guest beside Additional Deputy Commissioner (finance) Khyber,Haseeb-ur-Rehman,representative of CRA team Irfan Khan,district sports manager Rahidgul Mulagori were also present on the occasion.
The chief guest gave away prizes and trophies to winners’ teams and shining players.
Sports kits and other games related commodities were distributed among the players.
According to the organizers, the sports competitions were initiated with the purpose to create harmony of inter sub-tribes and to provide sports facilities to the players of remote areas at their door steps in addition with to persuade the tribal youth community towards sports.
Residents of the area appreciated the Sport Gala and urged for the formation of such kinds of activities on a regular basis to motivate the youth community to do healthy acts.
