The spree of target killing continue unabated as 11 persons including a cop fell victim to incidents of target killing in the first three days of 2017 in the provincial capital.
According to details, on the first day of the New Year armed men fired at a car over an old enmity, leaving one person and leader of Awami National Party Abdul Rahim dead while injuring his companion.
The accused managed to escape unchallenged after committing the crime. The second incident occurred in Palosai area where the step-father strangled his daughter to death for refusing a marriage proposal and dumped the body in Abshar Colony.
The police arrested the accused.
Two brothers died after consuming poisonous food while 15 other of the family fell unconscious in Asia Gate area. On the second day unidentified gunmen shot dead a woman and wounded her spouse in Badbeer area.
The father and mother-in-laws killed their daughter-in-law over domestic issue in Nothia Payan and escaped.
Similarly, the police recovered a bullet-riddled body from Budhni Canal. The identity of the slain man could not be ascertained and the police buried the body temporarily.
Likewise, another bullet-riddle body was also found dumped in fields in Qazi village. The slain person was identified as Aftabudin and resident of Thall in Hangu district.
Unidentified gunmen shot dead a cop Zanoosh Khan when he came out of his house for performing duty in Dauzai area on the outskirt of Peshawar.
Similarly, a youth identified as Sabir Rehman was killed over an old enmity in Khazana area. Unidentified gunmen had shot dead Salman and injured his two friends in Gul Baila area and escaped.
