State is responsible for care and protection of children: Punjab Governor


Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that children are the asset of the nation and their care, protection and upbringing is the responsibility of the parents as well as the state.
He expressed these views on Saturday during the visit of Child Protection and Welfare Bureau and during meeting the child who suffered from the violence of the owners in the Defense area.
The government has made laws to prevent violence against children, he said, the persons involved in such heinous incidents will not be forgiven in any case.
Chairperson Child Protection and Director General Child Protection Bureau also present on the occasion.
Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that he was very saddened to hear about the incident of violence against domestic workers children in the past few days. He said that such incidents are a bad stain on our society. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz Sharif immediately took strict notice of this incident and with the notice of the Punjab government, the police swung into action and arrested the accused .
Further he added that action is being taken against those responsible for this incident.
People should immediately report child protection bureau’s helpline 1121 if they see violence against children or young workers in a house so that to avoid such incidents in the future, he went on, such incidents can be prevented only through joint efforts. Helpless children of the society cannot be left alone and it is gratifying that the Child Protection Bureau is playing a key role in this regard.
He urged the head of the institution that no effort should be spared in the upbringing, care and education of these children. On this occasion, the Governor of Punjab mingled with the children and inquired about their well-being one by one. The children were very happy to find the Governor of Punjab amongst them.
