Strengthening of institutions is top priority of government: Ch Sarwar

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Thursday said that strengthening of institutions is the top priority of government.
All schools of thought, including political and religious parties, have to play their part to end corruption. He said Local body elections will help solve people’s problems at the grassroot level. Health Insaf Card is a gift of the government to poor people.
The steps being taken today for the development and prosperity of South Punjab are unprecedented in the past. The pace of work is accelerating.
Governor Punjab was speaking at the inauguration of filtration plants donated by social worker Jalaluddin Rumi at the Telemedicine Center, Hepatitis Center and Government Commerce College at Nishtar Medical Complex and at the Bahawalpur Circuit House.
Provincial Ministers Dr. Akhtar Malik, Provincial Minister Hasnain Jahanian Gardezi and Vice Chancellor Nishtar Medical University Rana Muhammad Altaf and others were also present during his visit to the Medical Complex.
Chaudhary Sarwar also presented awards to the doctors who have shown outstanding performance and assured to take all necessary steps to solve the problems of the university. Governor Punjab also offered Fateha and condolences on the death of mother of MNA Amir Dogar of Tahreek-e-Insaf at his residence.
The Governor said that the government of PTI has no personal and political agenda. We only want development and prosperity of Pakistani people for which Federal and Punjab government are working together.
The main issue is the basic health facilities for which the present government has also issued a Health card so that there would be no problems in providing health facilities to the people. The way medical universities of Punjab have been working on the front line during COVID-19 is laudable.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has been talking about the rule of law and strengthening of institutions in the country from day one. I would also like to say to all the political parties that it is in the national interest rather than personal and political and all need to work together to save the country from problems like corruption.
Chaudhry Sarwar said that more than 1200 projects of Punjab Aab e Pak Authority are being inaugurated in the whole Punjab and these projects are being implemented.
Punjab Aab e Pak Authority and NGOs will collectively provide clean drinking water to 1.5 crore people of Punjab. Special plans are also being intensified for the provision of clean water for South Punjab.
The Governor said that local body elections of Punjab are starting from May. After these elections not only the problems of the people will be solved at the grass root level but also democracy will be further strengthened in Pakistan and for that no compromise will be made, he added.
