BAHAWALPUR
The students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur have praised the education friendly statement in the inaugural statement of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and expressed happiness over the announcement of educational promoting policies, revival of laptop scheme, provision of technical education and scholarships.
The students including Hamad Javed, Abdul Rafi, Muhammad Imran, Abdul Rahman Bin Shafqat, Aqib Razzaq, Mohsin Sattar, Ameer Hamza, Amara Tanveer, Sonia Mehak and Jamshid Iftikhar said in a statement that Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had given top priority to the education sector during his tenure as Chief Minister. New universities were established throughout the province.
A state-of-the-art university Khawaja Farid University of Engineering and Information Technology Rahim Yar Khan was established in Bahawalpur division. Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and Government Sadiq College and Women’s University Bahawalpur were also established during his time. Laptops were made available to thousands of students through the Laptop Scheme, which accelerated research activities and gave young people access to the resources available for research activities around the world.
The availability of scholarships through the Punjab Education Endowment Fund has opened the doors to education for students. Students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur received thousands of laptops as well as scholarships worth crores of rupees from PEEF Scholarships. Billions of rupees were refunded to the students of South Punjab on priority basis under the fee refund scheme.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in his statement while announcing his commitment to education has announced to use all the resources for this sector. This is a testament to the bright future and stable Pakistan for students from all over the country including Bahawalpur. Students hope that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur being the largest university in South Punjab will benefit from these educational friendly policies.
The students hoped that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur which is the largest university in South Punjab where a large number of students from all four provinces are being adorned with education and this historic university will set new milestones of development due to these education friendly policies.
