Swati terms lifting of wheat ban a victory for KP

Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has welcomed the decision of the committee constituted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to remove the ban on transportation of wheat from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the speaker expressed gratitude to Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi, Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, Opposition Leader Dr Ibadullah, parliamentary leaders and all political parties for demonstrating unity in the larger interest of the people of the province. He said the collective stance adopted by the political leadership inside the provincial assembly had compelled the federal government to take the decision.
Describing the development as a victory for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the speaker said the move would help address concerns related to wheat supply and public interest in the province.
He congratulated all political and parliamentary leaders and expressed the hope that the same spirit of unity and consensus would continue in future for the protection of provincial rights and the welfare of the people.
