Syed Foundation, KSF hosts Iftar dinner for old-age people at Darul Sukoon


Star Marketing Project Director and prominent social figure Mehmood Ahmed Khan has emphasized that old-age people are the victims of neglect by both their families and society. He said that these neglected persons deserve equal compassion and love.
“Old age is a sensitive phase; elderly people need care and comfort to lead a healthy life without worries and anxiety. Both the children and the society are equally responsible to show compassion and take care of the needs of elderly persons”, he said.
Addressing an Iftar dinner with senior citizens and elderly persons hosted by Syed Foundation and Karachi Sports Foundation (KSF) at Darul Sukoon Old Age Home on M A Jinnah Road , he said the guidance provided by the teachings of Islam regarding the elderly persons are for the whole society. He urged the philanthropists and the society to play its role to bring ease in the lives of old-age persons.
New Port Institute Chairperson Huma Bukhari, Prominent Sports Anchor Yahya Hussaini, Syed Foundation President Syed Waseem Hashmi and KSF Senior VP Tehmina Asif were also present on the occasion.
Mehmood Ahmed Khan said that Syed Foundation and KSF are known for their social services and we feel proud to be part of their welfare gestures, adding, we would further extend the circle of our working together with such organizations to cater and continue services all the yearlong. Huma Bukhari lauded the role of Darul Sukoon for its services to special persons and old-age people said they are providing home-like environment to the suffering souls, catering to their needs of food, treatment and shelter etc.
She said that other financial institutions and organizations working in the arena of services to humanity should emulate the example and precedent set by KSF and Syed Foundation and appealed to well-to-do people to donate generously towards the noble mission by Syed Foundation and KSF.
Syed Waseem Hashmi said that as many as 800 families have received ration bags during the Ramazan campaign by the Syed Foundation so far in Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Bahawalpur, Lahore and Islamabad during the two phases of ration distribution. He said that names and identify of financially struggling people are maintained with utmost secrecy so that their self-respect is not damaged.
