Teachers call off protest after successful talks with KP govt

A group of teachers who had been protesting in Peshawar for their scale up-gradation have decided to called off their protest after successful talks with provincial minister for information Barrister Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel and Advisor to Chief Minister on Education Rehmat Salam Khattak.
Earlier, police baton-charged and detained more than 15 teachers as they attempted to set-up a sit-in on main GT Road outside the Government High School No-1.
The Minister for Information and CM Aide on Education visited the protesting schoolteachers and after successful negotiation at Mufti Mehmood Markaz, headquarters of JUI-F, they have ended their protest in the provincial capital.
A statement issued by the provincial government also said the teachers ended their protest after talks with the members of the cabinet members.
The teachers told reporters that the provincial government representatives and members of the cabinet in presence of the education advisor promised the protesting teachers that their demands would be fulfilled as early as possible.
It is pertinent to mention here that SST cader teachers across the province were protesting in Peshawar for their scale up-gradation.
