Police claimed to have killed a wanted terrorist in the limits of Khazana Police Station here on Saturday.
As per details, Khazana Police Station got a tip-off from reliable sources about the presence of the terrorist along with two others friends who were travelling in a vehicle.
After confirming the information, Khazana Police and Rural Division formed a team.
As soon as police identified the vehicles and stop them for checking in the above-mentioned area, the terrorist suddenly start indiscriminate firing on the police personnel. The terrorist were travelling in two cars.
As a result, the police team started retaliatory firing on terrorists to defend themselves.
The shootout continued for a while and after the firing stopped, the dead body of a terrorist was recovered from the vehicle during the search.
The other two terrorists managed to flee from the car.
SSP Operations told media reporters that the slain terrorist was identified as Abdullah alias or Malik Adnan.
He maintained that the slain terrorist was involved in terrorist activities in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Lahore, Faisalabad, and Islamabad.
Police have recovered a machine gun, four hand grenades, Kalashnikovs, dozens of fake number plates and vehicles jamming equipment.
SSP Operation maintained that there were evidence that the terrorist was hiding in Afghanistan for sometime after allegedly killing SHO Shaheed Shakeel Khan and IB officials in Peshawar.
The police team has launched a search operation in the area to arrest the fleeing terrorists and detained three persons including two women.
SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi added that Islamabad and other provinces police were being contacted for further information about the slain terrorist.
