Swabi Women University and Pro VC of Peshawar university along with senior faculty/officials participated. USAID’s HESSA delegation led by Dr Aslam Chaudhry, Chief of Party-HESSA was received by Vice Chancellor AWKUM on the campus.
A detailed meeting was held with the VCs and faculty that have participated in various HESSA training programs to discuss the project progress so far, work planning for third year, and a way forward for university strategic and business planning.
Dr Aslam briefed the participants on key accomplishments of the program during the last two years. The project has conducted international study tours to the University of Utah USA for Pakistani faculty from 16 partner universities across Pakistan, where more than 400 university officials have received capacity building support through USAID-HESSA program.
The project is supporting partner institutes in strengthening the higher education eco system to produce employable graduates. In the next phase participants were briefed about the university strategic and business planning process.
Each HESSA partner university will constitute a planning team which will be trained by international experts on developing and implementing a strategic plan.
The meeting deliberated on the proposed plan for the third year of project implementation and provided feedback on improvements to the training programs structure under HESSA.
These suggestions and recommendations will be incorporated into the program framework moving forward in consultation with academic leadership of all the HESSA partner universities.
