MARDAN: Due to the poor performance of the education ministry Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, thousands of male and female students of government schools are deprived of textbooks. A few hundred male and female students are studying in old books, sources in the education department said. Sources added that thousands of male and female students of different high and secondary schools including primary and middle schools, are forced to go to school without textbooks. Sources added that new textbooks are not available in the market. Sources added that the teachers are also hesitant as to which course they teach to their students. Sources added that the students and their parents are also suffering from an agony without textbooks. Sources added that due to the unavailability of new textbooks, the majority of the time of students is wasted. The parents demanded the government to take proper steps in this connection and ensure the provision of textbooks for their children, otherwise they will be forced to pick up the children from government schools.
