PESHAWAR(INP): The local administration on Thursday arrested three persons for harassing the polio team workers and refusal of polio vaccines to their offspring. In this regard Additional Commissioner Shahid Mehmood along with Dr Ikram visited and monitored the polio teams in various parts of the provincial capital.
In Takht Abad area three persons including Inayat Ullah, Misal Khan and Awal Khan were arrested who were reluctant to vaccinate their and children and harassing the polio team workers.
It is mentioned here that a seven day campaign against polio has been launched on 29th August wherein 833253 children would be vaccinated in district Peshawar through 2200 polio worker teams.
The Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Mehsood appealed to masses to vaccinate their children and support the workers teams aimed at toppling the disease and make Peshawar free of polio. He said that without the people support the drive against the disease could not made successful.
Meanwhile the DC also imposed section 144 in the district for a month wherein those who collecting sacrificial hides.
